I found this piece of wood while walking through the forest — half hidden beneath leaves, shaped by rain, sun, and time. It had already lived a full life before I touched it. A fallen branch, dried by wind, softened by the years. Most would have stepped over it, but there was something about its quiet texture that felt alive.
Back in the workshop, I stabilised it to preserve what nature had already written into it — the tiny cracks, the rough edges, the story of slow decay and renewal. I didn’t want to erase its past, only make it strong enough to begin again.
At one end, the wood is broken — not cut, not polished — just as it was when I found it. I left it that way on purpose. It’s a reminder that not everything needs to be finished, that beauty often happens when control meets chance.
Every time I hold it, I think of that morning in the forest — quiet air, wet earth, and a piece of wood that refused to be perfect.
Every knife is handmade with great care in Slovenia.
Chef's knife. It is a true multi-purpose knife that can perform wide range of tasks, can be used with a variety of different cutting techniques and is suitable for cutting the vast majority of meats, fishes, vegetables and fruits.
